More safety and less downtime with ABB's next-generation industrial modular circuit breakers

Discover a new level of performance, efficiency and safety with the S300P industrial modular circuit breakers. The series replaces the existing S200P series and offers numerous new features.

The S300P provides reliable protection in demanding applications in industrial plants, heavy duty OEM, marine, data centres, battery charging systems. With a high short-circuit resistance of 25 kA over the entire series (0.2 A-63 A), safety is improved and downtime reduced.

New functionalities

The S300P series offers a multitude of new functionalities, including an integrated trip indicator to quickly track tripping events such as overload or short circuit. In addition, thanks to a double DIN rail clip, the module can be removed quickly, easily and without tools, even when mounted on a rail. A handy QR code on the circuit breaker also provides quick access to documentation, certificates and technical data. And with one module width, an integrated connection for auxiliary contacts and an adapted design for larger cables up to 35 mm², the new S300P is the ideal and space-saving circuit breaker.

More safety and efficiency

Compared to previous models, the S300P has a lower internal resistance. As a result, power losses are reduced and the new circuit breaker offers more safety and energy efficiency. Thanks to global certifications, the new range of S300P circuit breakers can be used anywhere in the world.

Improvements in brief

  •  Higher short-circuit resistance (25 kA across the range)
  • Higher voltage level for better performance
  • Reduced downtime
  • Lower internal resistance and therefore savings on energy costs
  • Increased safety thanks to higher rated lead voltage (6KV)
  • Trip indicator for overload and short-circuit tracking
  • Double DIN rail clip for quick (de)mounting
  • QR code with access to more information

ABB EcoSolutions label™

At ABB, they are fully committed to resource conservation. In doing so, they work closely with suppliers and partners. To support sustainable and circular developments, ABB introduced a new circularity label: ABB EcoSolutions. The ABB EcoSolutions label™ provides transparency on environmental impacts throughout the product lifecycle. Products within this portfolio meet a set of performance indicators defined in ABB's circularity programme and have an external, third-party verified environmental product declaration - EPD (ISO14025).

    ABB - Control Unit SCU100
This handy control unit collects measurement data from as many as 16 energy and power meters at the same time as that from 96 current sensors or digital input/output modules. Can't be on site? No problem because monitoring can also be done remotely thanks to digital communication that supports various protocols such as Modbus RTU, TCP or SNMP v1, v2 and encrypted v3. As icing on the cake, thanks to 2 interfaces and easy integration with any IT infrastructure: LAN (TCP/IP or Modbus TCP) and RS485 (Modbus RTU).

Elektro Internationaal - Unburdening with Vendor Managed Inventory
Optimising internal logistics is often a challenge for panel builders, from grab stock management to getting a grip on delivery times. Especially when production is spread across multiple sites, like at Elektro Internationaal (EI) in Woerden. In 2016, the company already took a big step, together with itsme Connected Business, at their batch production site. This was related to the introduction of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) in the form of a 2BIN system. In the near future, EI expects to start the construction of new premises, whereby all activities will be brought under one roof. At that point, the logistics for the entire production will also be optimised.
